Machinarium on the PlayStation Vita is the critically acclaimed indie adventure game developed by Amanita Design. Set entirely within a unique, hand-drawn dystopian city populated exclusively by robots, the story follows Josef, a humble little maintenance bot who has been wrongfully discarded to the scrap heap. Players must guide Josef back to the grand metropolitan tower to foil the villainous Black Cap Brotherhood and rescue his kidnapped partner, Berta.
Unlike traditional adventure games, Machinarium completely dispenses with written or spoken dialogue, relying entirely on expressive animations, comic-style thought bubbles, and an enchanting ambient soundtrack to tell its story. The gameplay revolves around interacting with environmental hotspots, collecting and combining inventory items, and solving brain-teasing mechanical puzzles that grow progressively complex. The PS Vita version takes full advantage of the handheld hardware by integrating precise touchscreen controls, making dragging, clicking, and puzzle manipulation feel completely natural.
