The Pet Girl of Sakurasou

Game Overview

The Pet Girl of Sakurasou brings the beloved characters and emotional coming-of-age story of Hajime Kamoida’s light novel series to life on the PlayStation Vita. Set in the notorious Sakurasou dorm for problem students, players take control of Sorata Kanda, who finds himself tasked with taking care of the brilliant yet completely helpless artist Shiina Mashiro.

Gameplay combines visual novel storytelling with a light simulation mechanism centered on game development. Sorata acts as the project producer, organizing tasks and schedules for his dormmates—including Mashiro as the lead artist, Nanami Aoyama as a voice actress, and Misaki Kamiigusa as an animator—to create a video game entry for the Suimei Arts University game contest.

Players must manage character morale, resolve interpersonal conflicts, and allocate time between game development duties and personal relationships. Choices made throughout the term dictate not only the final quality and success of the group's video game project but also which female character Sorata grows closer to, leading to multiple romantic endings. With expressively animated character sprites and full voice acting by the original anime cast, The Pet Girl of Sakurasou is a must-play for fans of romantic comedy visual novels.
