🎮 Game Description

Game Overview

Ciel Nosurge is a real-time life simulation / social communication game created by Gust (now under Koei Tecmo). The player uses the PS Vita as a terminal that connects to a world beyond the seventh dimension. There they meet Ion (Ionasal.kkll.Preciel), a young woman living alone with amnesia who is actually a candidate for the next emperor of her dying planet, Ra Ciela.

The core loop involves living with Ion in real time: waking her, talking, cooking, going on dates, and building a relationship. These interactions generate HymP (Hyumno Points). Players then scan real-world barcodes with the Vita’s camera to create fairy-like beings called Sharls. Sharls are used to repair the ruined areas of Ion’s Genometrics (her mind/dream world). As ruins are restored, fragments of Ion’s memories unlock, advancing the story across twelve episodes divided into three arcs (Trials, Downfall, and Empress).

The original 2012 release was online-only and episodic, with additional content released as DLC. Later versions include Re:Incarnation (2013, which collected more content) and the fully offline Ciel nosurge Offline (2014), which packages all episodes and most DLC for offline play. A DX remaster for Switch, PS4 and PC arrived in 2021 (Japan-only). The game was never officially localized outside Japan, though a complete fan English translation for the Offline version was released in 2025.
