In Maldita Castilla EX: Cursed Castilla, peace in the Kingdom of Castile is shattered when a weeping demon turns a young maiden's tears into a gateway for evil. Demonic hordes, mythical creatures, and European folklore beasts invade the realm. King Alphonse VI summons his finest knights, led by Don Ramiro, to journey into the cursed lands of Tolomera and purge the demonic presence before the kingdom falls into eternal darkness.
The game faithfully recreates the gameplay mechanics and aesthetic of 1980s arcade action-platformers. Players navigate through eight distinct stages filled with platforming obstacles, secret locations, and over 48 diverse enemy types. Combat centers on classic directional projectile attacks—sword throws, holy water, axes, and daggers—combined with double jumps and shield defenses. With dynamic CRT monitor display filters, secret relics to discover, and four different endings determined by player performance and collectibles, Cursed Castilla offers high replayability and precise retro platforming action on the PS Vita.
