Dynasty Warriors Next
Dynasty Warriors Next is a high-octane tactical hack-and-...
Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires shifts the focus of the core series from fixed historical narratives to player-driven sandbox strategy. Set against the backdrop of Ancient China, players choose how they want to rise to power across multiple historical scenarios. You can rule as a sovereign managing a kingdom, serve as a loyal strategist issuing battle directives, or operate as a rogue mercenary officer offering services to the highest bidder.
Gameplay is divided between the Empire Politics phase and Real-Time Battles. During the politics phase, players make monthly governance decisions—such as recruiting officers, forming diplomatic alliances, levying taxes, purchasing weapons, and issuing military stratagems. When territorial disputes erupt into war, players take direct control of their officer on the battlefield, capturing enemy bases, summoning tactical stratagem towers, and defeating rival generals.
The PS Vita version incorporates hardware-specific features, including intuitive touchscreen controls for issuing real-time commands to allied officers, calling horses, and activating Stratagem cards. With deep character customization, marriage and succession mechanics, and Cross-Play support, Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires offers endless strategic replayability for handheld gamers.
